We all grow up listening to stories. Some of kings and queens, some of fairies and princesses, and some of distant lands. Some from grandparents, some from parents, and some others from uncles and aunts. And so I grew up listening to stories of a land. The land where my grand parents lived and where my mom was born. A land about which much was discussed and described about. So much so that, when I got an opportunity to visit this place, there wasn't a second thought.
And thus began the journey of discovering roots. Of discovering unknown bonds, untold narratives, and unmet cousins. The journey to Malaysia.
Waking up one fine day and realizing that you actually have a set of brothers, sisters, uncles and aunts that you've never ever met in your lifetime is a strange, yet amazing feeling. Strangers till yesterday, family from today. As bizarre as its sounds. But its history that keeps us together. The past that binds us in a unseen web of love. Children of a father. And so, the family keeps growing.
But Malaysia definitely was different from anything that I had heard. No doubt, the trip was worthwhile. I now have some brand new brothers and sisters.
