Adieu!

Random, meaningless conversations,
Over coffee, tea, and otherwise.
Senseless jabbering and constant whining,
News and tales from the present and past.
Shopping escapades, brands and whatever else.
Cuisines experimented, donuts devoured,
Pulling of legs, daydreaming of love.
Exploring, discovering, and re-discovering life as such.
Understanding cultures to find new meaning,
Dancing to the rhythm, moving to the beat,
Singing to the tune and running against the breeze.
Laughing it out, crying it out,
Promising to live, love, and forgive.
Too less of time, yet a heart full of memories,
Of happiness, laughter, and thoughtfulness galore.
Saying goodbye, is not for us,
Cause we'd forever be in each other's heart.

A Day at the Universal Studios Singapore

A day filled with incredible fun and frolic...

Yes, that's exactly how I'd describe our day at the Universal Studios Singapore at Sentosa. It was absolutely worth the time and money. If you're ever visiting Singapore, this place is definitely a must-visit.

Entrance to Sentosa World

What a splendid day it was! We spent an entire day at the Studios and left at around 6 pm, as we were too tired and exhausted with all the fun we had. I traveled to Singapore with my cousin and his wife (who also happens to be my bestie) and this one day will forever be etched in our memories.

Us, at the Universal Studios Singapore
As we entered this Hollywood theme park at around 10 am in the morning it was as if were in a different planet all together. Miles away from Mumbai, miles away from crazy work schedules, and away from any kind of stress.

Offering around 24 Hollywood-themed rides and attractions, the Universal Studios Singapore is entertainment, thrill, and fun at its best. The several themes featured at this park include New York, Sci-Fi, Madagascar, Far Far Away, Lost World, and Ancient Egypt.

After having walked around for a while, we started off with the The Transformer Ride. "Mind-boggling" is the word! This thrilling 3-D ride, with an amazing story line, literally took our breath away. And so we had the best start ever. Walked on the streets of New York, enjoyed street theater, got introduced to the adorable characters of Madagascar, dined at Ancient Egypt, visited Shrek and did many more things.
Ride after ride, thrill after thrill, what a pure delight it was!

Lover Of My Soul

So much beauty in your presence,
Unfathomable love that I can sense.
Your voice so profound and overwhelming,
Your touch so soft and soothing.
At your feet sorrows disappear,
In your arms I find cheer.

Jesus, you're the lover of my soul.

Intoxicated!

Intoxicated in your love,
Flabbergasted by your touch,
Here I stand, awe-struck.
I will never be the same,
For I've felt your tender grace,
And its all that I need.
You delight me like nobody else,
You surround me in my brokenness,
You've loved me when I least deserved,
Oh, I'm devoted to you.

So I come running into your arms,
In your presence, I'm at home.
You're the lover of my soul.

Higher than the highest star,
Deeper than the deepest ocean,
Wider than the universe,
Longer than eternity,
Unfolding like a mystery,
Your love, Oh Lord,
Breathes meaning to my life.

This Too Shall Pass

Turmoil in her head,
Numbness in her heart,
She walks with unsure steps,
Lost in fear of the unknown.
The lump grows in her throat,
As she holds back the unshed tears.
Life's unfair, thought she,
Well, hadn't it always been?

Foodily ever after in Malaysia!

Food is that one thing that connects people together in spite of numerous other diversities. Some experiments during my recent visit to Malaysia.

A dish made of yellow egg noodles with spicy curry soup, Curry Mee is sure to get your mouth watering.

Tickle your senses with yummy flavored yogurt from yogen früz that melts in your mouth and keeps you longing for more.

A hazelnut coffee at the OldTown White Coffee, the largest restaurant chain in Malaysia, will no doubt brighten your day.

Another interesting looking dessert from OldTown White Coffee.

Discovering Roots

“The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are.” – Samuel Johnson

We all grow up listening to stories. Some of kings and queens, some of fairies and princesses, and some of distant lands. Some from grandparents, some from parents, and some others from uncles and aunts. And so I grew up listening to stories of a land. The land where my grand parents lived and where my mom was born. A land about which much was discussed and described about. So much so that, when I got an opportunity to visit this place, there wasn't a second thought.

And thus began the journey of discovering roots. Of discovering unknown bonds, untold narratives, and unmet cousins. The journey to Malaysia.

Waking up one fine day and realizing that you actually have a set of brothers, sisters, uncles and aunts that you've never ever met in your lifetime is a strange, yet amazing feeling. Strangers till yesterday, family from today. As bizarre as its sounds. But its history that keeps us together. The past that binds us in a unseen web of love. Children of a father. And so, the family keeps growing.

But Malaysia definitely was different from anything that I had heard. No doubt, the trip was worthwhile. I now have some brand new brothers and sisters.

Free Eternally

summer

Born to be free
Freed from hurt
From death and sorrow
Mortal worries and wants
Lust of the flesh
Lust of the eye
And the boastful pride of life

To spread the wings
Fly above the dreams
To lose and yet to gain
Beyond life's twists
Over and above
Free eternally

Rain some more

i do...
It has been a while now. Looks like the rains are here to stay. Rains in Mumbai...a thoroughly dirty affair. Crazy traffic, flooded streets, trains running late. Things get even worse. But that doesn't make me hate the rains.

The smell of first rain, the soft drizzles, the joy of getting drenched (obviously not on your way to work), steaming hot coffee/chocolate...I love them all.

And the best of all- Falling asleep to  the sound of rain. Listening, dreaming, sensing. The pitter-patter, the rhythm, the music created by nature. The perfect state of bliss.

Fireflies in the Sky

Fireflies in the sky
Twinkling bright as ever
Raindrops sprinkle down
Trickles along the way
Sunlight pours itself
Flowers bloom along the bay
Seasons come and leave
And I thought that you'd be here by now

And then it's dark as black
Deep cold darkness
It rains even hard
Bolts of thunder strike
The heat turns dry
And the flowers wither away
Days, moments pass by
And I thought that you'd be here by now

The bridge is falling apart
The fire is burning out
The song  fading away
The music is slowing down
The story is ending here
The hope dying now
And I thought that you'd be here by now

Silence is all I hear
Darkness is all I see
Broken is what I feel
And I thought that you'd be here by now

Why is it that you seem so far away?
Why is it that I can't see you?

Cause I thought that you'd be here by now

And as I realize
My eyes begin to open
I see you next to me

And I know it's you.

Some day...

Some day
Everything will make perfect sense
Till then
It's okay to be confused
After all
Life is but a fleeting moment...

No, Never!

At times the going gets tough
The sky bleary and moon hazy
When tomorrow is a distant dream
And the strength is wearing off
But does that mean  that I'd give up?

Would I ever give up on my dreams?
Would I ever give up on what was meant to be?
Would I stop to seek, stop to speak?
No, Never!

Travel Bug

It's that time of the year again. The time when it gets hot and humid. It's summer! And my travel cravings have begun too. Can I head to the mountains? Can I hibernate till summer ends? Wish I could.

And having been bitten by the travel bug, that's what I think of for the most part of the day. On my way to work, on the train, on the bus, at work, on my way back home. So much so that, I'm spreading it to the people around me as well.

But don't ask me to go to Kerala. I've already been there thrice this year (GOSH!). And I've been no where else. :(

Anyways, I can only hope for something to turn up. Till then it's back to dreaming and Pinterest! :)

I love Writing

It was last summer that I precisely started blogging on a regular basis. And since then it has been one of  the best things that ever happened to me. I have loved every part of it.

But off late my job is taking its toll on me and I very rarely find time to write or read after office hours. In spite of ideas revolving in my brain, I find myself unable to put it down. And this is not something that I like.

Therefore, no matter what, rain or storm, I have decided to be regular with my blog. So here I am...let the creative juices flow!!!

Glimpses

This is so true!
Keep reading, read anything and everything.
Get lost in the pages. Live a hundred lives. Fall in love with fictitious characters.
Care about others. Those that hurt, those in pain. Spread your smile.
Spread the love.
Get excited at the silliest of things. Smallest of things.
Love yourself. Keep pushing to reach your dreams.
Discover what you really are.
Enjoy learning. Enjoy doing something new.
Learn a new thing everyday.
Live your life!

The Power of Love

How is this love
That loved me before I knew
How is this love
That took my pain before I gave
How is this love
That loves me more than myself
How is this love
That cleanses my soul
How is this love
That never fails nor gives up on me
How is this love
That draws me to your side
There's no love like your love

Edge Of Oblivion

Standing on the edge of oblivion,
Unsure of what is to come,
I stand gazing at the clouds.
In expectation of some wet shower,
For the fragrance of the misty dawn,
The softness of the moist green grass,
And that which my soul longs for.
The rings of light reflect on my eyes,
Spreading vivid colors of blue and yellow.
A beautiful day so naive and fresh,
Yet I stand solitary, awaiting the beginning.
It is not for me to gather,
Why you choose to stand afar,
And stare at me with unsaid words,
Of love or hate and whatever else.
Won't you whisper the endless tune?
Won't you awaken the intense verve?
Or will you fade away too,
Soon as the dusk falls upon the scape?

Still I stand solitary,
Gazing at the rain less clouds.

10 Things To Do When You Are Utterly Bored

Come on, we all feel bored at some point or the other. Here's a list of things to do when you're not having "the-time-of-your-life":

1. Make prank phone calls. It works all the time.
2. Pretend and walk around as though you are a ninja.
3. Stare at some random object for a minute. Roll yours eyes at least 5 times. Blink wildly for 20 seconds. And then shut them really tight. Repeat in the same order at least 10 times.
4. Go outside and follow the first person you come across.
5. Text message your friend backwards.
6. Keep staring at the back of someone's head till he/she turns around.

7. Talk to yourself in the mirror
8. Walk around in your room without your feet touching the floor.
9. Dance till you are out of breath.
10. Sing your favorite song as loudly as you can.

;)

Wings of the dove

Can I not have wings?
Wings as that of a dove,
Oh, that I would fly away
And be at rest!

Abundant Love

Though I tread,
Broken and shattered,
Upon the valley,
Where the shadow of death lurks.
With tommorow appearing so distant,
Blurred and bleary,
And giving up is easy.
When I'm drowned in pain,
My heart bleeding in distress.
It's not in me to aspire,
As my world comes crashing over.
My strength is faint,
And my body weary.
Lonely and abandoned,
I'm out of words.
Even when I put on a fake smile,
Pretending as if all's good -

You know me inside-out.
And you take me by your side.
You whisper into my ears,
And sing to me a song of love.
Hiding me in your wings,
You lift me up from where I am.
And wrap me in your arms.
Oh, how great is your mercy,
How great is your love!
And so my mouth will praise you,
With my heart filled with gratitude,
I will love you,
My soul will delight in you.
I'm so glad to have known you!

A Life In Vain

The alarm rings
Announcing the break of daylight
And the day begins
So does the chase
On a mundane day of the year
Yes, it is a day
Morning, afternoon
Evening and night
Moments in time
Moments of a life
Spent on a mission
Mostly on a task to survive
Meeting targets
Crossing expectations
Staying alive
And so the saga continues
Moments become hours
Hours become days
Days turn into years
And years into a lifetime
A life spent chasing
A life less lived
A life in vain.

"I will wait for you" by Official P4CM Poet JANETTE...IKZ

I came across this poem on Facebook and instantly fell for it. Brilliantly written and recited. The poem's about waiting  for true love to happen.

Here's the transcript:

This is getting me by.
So it seemed,
that it was cool,
for everyone to be in a relationship but me.
So I took matters into my own hands
and… ended up with him.
him, who displayed the characteristics of a
cheater, a liar, an abuser, and a thief.
So why was I surprised when he broke into my heart?
I called 911, but I was cardiac-arrested for
aiding and abetting,
’cause it was me who let him in,
claiming we were “just friends.”
It was already decided for me by the first date that
even if he wasn't,
I was gonna make him “the One.”
You know… I was tired of being alone,
and I simply made up in my mind,
that it was about that time
so I decided to drag him along for the ride,
’cause I was always the bridesmaid and never the bride.
A
virgin in the physical,
but mentally just a grown woman on the corner in heat,
who was tired of the wait,
so I was gonna make him “the One.”
he had a… form of Godliness,
but not much.
But, but, hey, hey, I can change him,
so I’ll take him, I mean he’s close…
enough.
Ready to sell my aorta for a quarter,
not knowing the value of it is to be.
Arteries so clogged with my will,
it blocked His will from flowing through me.
So, I thank Christ that His blood pressure gave this heart an attack,
that flat lined my obscured vision, put me flat on my back.
Through my ignorance, He saw,
so through my sternum He sawed & cracked open my chest
to transplant Psalms 51:10,
a new heart
& a renewed right spirit within.
So now, I fully understand,
better yet, I thoroughly comprehend,
how much I need to wait
for You.
See,
the bad thing is
that I knew he wasn't you from the beginning.
’cause in the beginning was the Word
and he didn't even sound or shine like Your Son
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks,
and all he could whisper was
sweet,
empty
nothings–
which meant nothing!
he couldn't even have prayed when I needed him to,
asking him to fast would be absurd,
so, forget about being cleansed & washed with water through the Word.
But I know you,
you are already praying for me.
Even never having met me,
let me assure you,
I will wait
for you.
I will no longer date,
socialize or communicate with carbon copies of you

to appease my boredom
or to quench my thirsty desire I have for attention
and short-lived compliments from ‘sorta kindas.’
You know, he ‘sorta kinda’ right, but ‘sorta kinda’ wrong?
His first name: Luke,
his last name: Warm.
Aye,
I won’t settle for false companionship.
I won’t lay in the embrace of his arms,
attempting to find some closeness,
but never feeling so far, far apart
’cause, I just wanna be held.
♫ ‘Cause all I gotta do is say♫
“No!”
No more ‘almost sessions’ of
‘almost coming close’
passing winks & buying drinks,
and ♫I’ma,
I’ma,
I’ma flirt!♫
Who flirts with the ideology of,
“Can you just tell me how much I can get away with & still be saved?”
No more.
I’ll stay in my bed,
alone,
and write poems,
about how I will wait for You.
he won’t even come close,
our fingers won’t even interlock,
we won’t even exchange breath,
’cause I have thoughts that I’ve ‘saved as’ in a file that God has only equipped you to open.
I will no longer get waited down,
from so-called friends & family talks,
about the concern for my biological clock
when I serve the Author of Time.
Who is not subject to time,
but I’m subject to Him.
He has the ability to stop, fast-forward, pause, or rewind at any given time.
So,
if we could role play,
you would be Abraham & I would be Sara,
or you can be Isaac & I can be Rebecca–a servant’s answered prayer.
I am
bone of your bone,
flesh of your flesh,
made up of your rib, Adam.
And once we meet,
like electrons, I will be bound to your nucleus,
completely indivisible
atom.
We even speak the same math:
1 + 1 + 1 = 3,
which really equals 1 if you add Him.
We were all created in His image,
but you have the ability to reflect, project & even detect
the Son.
If I were to explain what you look like,
you would have to look like a star–
a sun of the Son.
I would gain energy simply from the light that you shine on me.
I would need you in order to complete my photosynthesis.
I await your revelation, but once again from the genesis,
I will wait for you.
And I will know you
because when you speak,
I will be reminded of Solomon’s wisdom,
your ability to lead will remind me of Moses,
your faith will remind me of Abraham,
your confidence in God’s Word will remind me of Daniel,
your inspiration will remind me of Paul,
your heart for God will remind me of David,
your attention to detail will remind me of Noah,
your integrity will remind me of Joseph,
and your ability to abandon your own will, will remind me of the disciples,
but your ability to love selflessly & unconditionally will remind me of Christ.
But I won’t need to identify you by any special Matthews
or any special marks,
’cause His Word will be tatted all over your heart.
And you will know me,
and you will find me,
where
the boldness of Esther
meets the warm closeness of Ruth,
where the hospitality of Lydia
is aligned with the submission of Mary,
which is engulfed in the tears of a praying Hanna.
I will be the one,
drenched in Proverbs 31,
waiting for you.
But to my Father,
my Father who has known me before I was birthed into this earth,
only if You should see fit.
I desire Your will above mine.
So even if you call me to a life of singleness,
my heart is content with You–the One who was sent.
You are the greatest love story ever told,
the greatest love ever known.
You are forever my judge & I’m forever Your witness,
and I pray that I’m always found on a mission about my Father’s business.
I will always be Yours,
and I will always wait for You, Lord.
More than the watchmen wait for the morning,
more than the watchmen wait for the morning,
I will wait.

I Have A HOPE

One of my favorite verses.

I have a hope. A hope as strong as an anchor. A hope that is my rigid point of support. A hope that makes me feel secure and stable. A hope that does not slip or breakdown. Christ in me, the hope of glory!
